We Made This for Us. That’s Why It Works for You.

We just wanted something better to drink.

When we set out to create MDRN, most of us were already using hydration mixes—some of the trendier, “cleaner” ones you see online. They were better than the sugar bombs we grew up with, sure. But honestly? They still felt off. Too sweet. Too chemical. Too much of that artificial aftertaste that makes you want to exorcise your tongue with a glass of juice.

And on the flip side, some of the “healthier” options were great for our bodies… but tasted like pond water. We loved how they made us feel, but not how they went down. It felt like taste had been sacrificed in the name of pure performance. So we set out to create something that tasted natural—but not like dirt. Sweet—but not like punch.

Something You’d Actually Want to Sip

So we started asking ourselves: What would it look like to make something we’d actually want to drink every day? Not just post-workout. Not just when we’re feeling sick or sunburned. But something we’d reach for while making breakfast, folding laundry, chasing kids, answering emails—just part of life.

We didn’t want it to taste like a science experiment. We wanted real flavor. Gentle flavor. Like if you dropped a couple slices of fresh Strawberry into a glass of ice cold water and added a twist of just enough Kiwi to wake it up. No fake sugar bomb. No weird mystery tang. Just something that feels good to sip. Especially with food. Especially all day long.

Clean Enough for the People We Love

And if we were going to drink it all the time, it had to be clean. None of those ingredients you can’t pronounce. No sketchy sweeteners or “natural flavors” that somehow taste like melted popsicles. We wanted real fruit powders, not lab-made flavorings. We wanted vitamins and electrolytes that actually do something—not just sound nice on a label.

Because here’s the thing: We weren’t building this for a “target demographic.” We were building it for our families. For our parents and partners. For our kids. For ourselves. And that meant every ingredient had to earn its place. It had to work. It had to be safe. And it had to feel right.

Made for Humans, Not Hustlebots

We weren’t trying to make something only for athletes or only for wellness warriors. Because as fitness enthusiasts, marathon runners, bodybuilders, athletes—we’re people first, and those other things second. We wanted to make something for humans. Something that helps you feel better in your body, wherever your body takes you.

Because we want to feel great at home and at the office and out with the kids, not just at the gym, the football field, or on our run. We want to feel great all day. So we need effective hydration without the regret.

Built on Care, Not Compromise

For all of these reasons and more, we didn’t want to just build a hydration brand. We just wanted to craft something we could trust enough to share with the people we love. Something that didn’t make us roll our eyes at the label or brace for the aftertaste.

And that’s still what it comes back to: care. We made MDRN for our own homes first—because we’re the kind of people who read every ingredient label, who get migraines from artificial sweeteners, who’ve watched our kids bounce off the walls from mystery additives in “healthy” drinks. We weren’t willing to settle. So we made something better.
